There are many people at UIC that don't know what USG is and what it does for them, as well as what it can do for them. If I have one goal this year, it is to make USG the most widely recognized student organization throughout the campus. Hopefully as more people learn about the organization, they will be willing to utilize what it has to offer, maybe even become a member themselves. The more people that know about USG, the more powerful the organization will become, and the easier it will be to affect change in the university.

My first year at UIC showed me that this is a "learn and go home" type campus, which is where the lack of community and school spirit stems from. This is a problem with no easy solution, I doubt it could be remedied even with a couple of years of work. But by setting realistic goals for my term in office and the years I spend with USG thereafter, I am hoping to start UIC down the path that will eventually lead every student to say, "I am proud to be a Flame."
